A few minutes north along the highway the town of Sechelt with its active harbour, sending daily shipments of gravel and rock to cities around the world.
Sechelt is the center of the southern Sunshine Coast, home to recreational facilities, restaurants and the coast's
centrally located hospital, St. Mary's.
From Sechelt, the highway meanders west to Halfmoon Bay, Pender Harbour, Madiera Park and Egmont, and the next ferry link to the northern end of the Sunshine Coast.
